Back at the end of May I blogged about my left bottom wisdom tooth cracking and it seems that it maybe related to the pain I'm having in my left shoulder and elbow. Yesterday I went to see a Naturopathic Doctor who practices QRA . I'm rather skeptical of nutritional stuff, while at the same time intrigued by how the body works. So she was testing energy points though out my body and at first we thought the shoulder pain maybe related to being rear-ended some time ago. After the consultation I asked her opinion about the tooth and a dentist friend she has recommended having the tooth pulled. (I...

Today wasn't much more difficult the day one. However I did notice that if I have my hands too close to my body it definitely makes the push ups harder and puts too much pressure on my shoulder. My left shoulder and elbow have been bothering me for a couple of weeks now. Well the elbow has been a couple of weeks, the shoulder has been a few months. I've been stretching out the shoulder which has greatly reduced the pain and am not working on eliminating the pain in the elbow. I kind of screwed up the number of reps for this week on the second set. For some reason I was looking at week 2 day one...

This week I started the hundred push up challenge. I have never done anything like this before and for whatever reason something just clicked. The plan seems very doable and I'm excited to get to the point where cranking out 100 push ups in a row is possible. For my initial test I was able to complete 27 push ups in a row, which kind of surprised me....

Well I decided it was time to get back out on the bike so a couple of guys and I rode out to Carlos, TX. It was a great ride. The air was cool, but not to cold, and the company was great. One of my favorite aspects of this ride, is that my daughter Karissa decided to come along. She was persistence and got her self ready to ride and then hopped on the back as I was leaving the house. Makes a father feel proud when your kid steps up and grabs something they want. I've imbedded a map of our route, enjoy. View Larger Map...

I love getting on my bike and riding down the freeway. I find it relaxing to my soul. Lately I've been paying particular attention to my level of relaxation and noticed that my muscles are pretty tight most of the time.. it takes a little while riding for my body to start to relax due to the stress of the day, etc. This morning I pulled another bone headed move, I failed to be totally sure I was in first gear* before taking off. Thankfully it was a non event in spite the bike stalling and the rear wheel locking up. God really did mean what he said when he told me he would protect me because it...

Why is it that as humans we tend to focus on the negative? Today I decided enough was enough and I rode my bike to our church's men's bible study and then on to the office. However someone was nice enough to tell me that riding was hazardous and should not be engaged in. DUDE get a life! ;) Then he asked well at least do you wear a helmet, to which I replied negative. Thus far no one that has complained about how bad that is has put any money where their mouth is and contributed to the "Jeff's Helmet Fund". (The helmet I feel will be comfortable enough for me to always want to wear it...

Got a referral from a PF blog ( Single Guy Money ) that I read on earning a little extra cash ($25). So I signed up at the revolution money exchange and the 25.00 was added to my account after I added a funding source. Not to shabby for 5 min worth of work. You can get your own account (and 25.00) by clicking the button below. The 25.00 offer is only good through the 14th of April!!...

I've decided that I need to track, in greater detail, the food that I consume through out the day. This is an effort to reverse damage done by living a sedentary lifestyle for the last two years. I have started exercising at least three times per week and since starting the diet changes in January have gone from ~240 and ~26% body fat (bf) down to ~230 and ~22% bf. The numbers fluctuate a little through out the week as my body adjusts to increasing muscle and decreasing fat however the trend has been downward in both numbers. My usual breakfast consists of 1 packet (about a cup) of Quaker Simple...
