resuming food blogging

I've decided that I need to track, in greater detail, the food that I consume through out the day. This is an effort to reverse damage done by living a sedentary lifestyle for the last two years.

I have started exercising at least three times per week and since starting the diet changes in January have gone from ~240 and ~26% body fat (bf) down to ~230 and ~22% bf. The numbers fluctuate a little through out the week as my body adjusts to increasing muscle and decreasing fat however the trend has been downward in both numbers.

My usual breakfast consists of 1 packet (about a cup) of Quaker Simple Harvest Multigrain oatmeal, which contains nuts (usually almond or pecans) as well as barley, oat and wheat. Another nutritious ingredient in the oatmeal is flax seeds! I also add about 2 teaspoons of organic coconut oil and a heaping teaspoon of local raw honey. In addition to the oatmeal, most mornings, I add a soft boiled organic egg to the meal. After eating organic free range eggs for a while now, I don't think I could go back to "regular" eggs. I tried one once and was amazed at the difference.

For lunch and dinner things change up a bit and I'll be logging that meal as well as twittering (www.twitter.com/wazzy) what I'm eating. Twitter is great cause I have an accountability partner that monitors what I eat and makes sure I stay with the program.

The last week or so I have been eating a Dryer's fruit bar (http://snipurl.com/239t1) after dinner. It is mostly made of fruit making the carb load rather high. I think my body has been craving fruit because last night I drank a large glass of apple juice and didn't have any desire to eat a fruit bar.

So far I've been happy with how things are going and the changes I see.
