Is my shoulder pain linked to my tooth?

Back at the end of May I blogged about my left bottom wisdom tooth cracking and it seems that it maybe related to the pain I'm having in my left shoulder and elbow. Yesterday I went to see a Naturopathic Doctor who practices QRA . I'm rather skeptical of nutritional stuff, while at the same time intrigued by how the body works. So she was testing energy points though out my body and at first we thought the shoulder pain maybe related to being rear-ended some time ago. After the consultation I asked her opinion about the tooth and a dentist friend she has recommended having the tooth pulled. (I...

Hundred Push Up Challenge

This week I started the hundred push up challenge. I have never done anything like this before and for whatever reason something just clicked. The plan seems very doable and I'm excited to get to the point where cranking out 100 push ups in a row is possible. For my initial test I was able to complete 27 push ups in a row, which kind of surprised me....

resuming food blogging

I've decided that I need to track, in greater detail, the food that I consume through out the day. This is an effort to reverse damage done by living a sedentary lifestyle for the last two years. I have started exercising at least three times per week and since starting the diet changes in January have gone from ~240 and ~26% body fat (bf) down to ~230 and ~22% bf. The numbers fluctuate a little through out the week as my body adjusts to increasing muscle and decreasing fat however the trend has been downward in both numbers. My usual breakfast consists of 1 packet (about a cup) of Quaker Simple...

Potassium.. are you getting enough?

I read an article from Natural News today about the some of the problems people encounter when they are deficient in potassium. One of the symptoms is "restless leg syndrome" which I have started to experience intermittently in the last couple of months. Another symptom is headaches, and high blood pressure. The article mentioned that we should be getting 4700 mg of this wonderful mineral each and every day. I started thinking to myself.. wow that is a lot, how in the world can I get all that especially since the FDA limits potassium supplements to only 99mg per serving? The answer comes from consuming...

I'm still in shock

I am still in shock and stunned that I cracked off the front part of my left wisdom tooth. To date the only problem I've ever had with my teeth was a tiny cavity that was easily filled. But this is wigging me out. Not only is the core of my tooth exposed but the edge is very sharp and I have a nice dull pain to boot. The frustrating thing about all of this is I told the last dentist I saw that something was wrong back there as I was having pain when eating when chewing food on the tooth. I was dismissed as just having a sensitive tooth, and given the option to use a toothpaste to numb the pain...

Any Health/Nutritional blogs??

Been thinking about health and nutrition and blogging. Maybe it is because I've been so involved with the tech world that I haven't noticed any health/nutritional blogs, but it would be great to find some!! 0 Comments

I really HATE cancer

I talked to a coworker today who was donating red blood cells for a friend who had cancer. He, the cancer patient, died recently. The thing that saddens me so much is many of these people could fix themselves if they would stop listening to the doctors and turn to natural nutrition and supplementation. The body is a wonderful thing and can heal itself, given the proper fuel from main ailments. However we as American's have placed all our trust in the doctors and little to none in God. The shameful part is those in the church is just as bad those outside of the church. See my post about pray not...

Could this be the reason our nation is fat??

I posted an article to my blog, because it would be a rather lengthy post.

I got an email from a friend that talks about MSG the addictive fattening additive. Interesting piece and something that I would love to see circulate the blog world to see what kind of pressuse grass roots can put on the food industry to change how it operates.

Alkaline Food Charts

I like this link because it has values beside the different items listed. Figs, for example carry a rating of 30, where cucumbers only a 2.5.

Antibiotics may be scrapped for most ear infections

In an article from CNN it seems like due to the build up of resistance to antibiotics doctors are no longer going to be perscribing medicine to battle the infection like they use to.Personally I find that using some liquid oxygen dropped down the ear along with aloe have the same effect as the medication does with out the negative side effects....
