Why is it that as humans we tend to focus on the negative? Today I decided enough was enough and I rode my bike to our church's men's bible study and then on to the office. However someone was nice enough to tell me that riding was hazardous and should not be engaged in. DUDE get a life! ;) Then he asked well at least do you wear a helmet, to which I replied negative. Thus far no one that has complained about how bad that is has put any money where their mouth is and contributed to the "Jeff's Helmet Fund". (The helmet I feel will be comfortable enough for me to always want to wear it...

Got a referral from a PF blog ( Single Guy Money ) that I read on earning a little extra cash ($25). So I signed up at the revolution money exchange and the 25.00 was added to my account after I added a funding source. Not to shabby for 5 min worth of work. You can get your own account (and 25.00) by clicking the button below. The 25.00 offer is only good through the 14th of April!!...

So I signed up for Vonage earlier this year and kept the service because I figured it would be good to have a "home phone". However they have pulled one of those screw you on the back end moves. If you decide you don’t need or like the service they have an early termination fee. When will companies truly look out of their customers rather then raping them if they decide to leave. I have promised myself to never use Vonage again!! Another company that pulls this kind of customer strong arm tactic is Direct TV. Again making you stay for a specific period of time or charging you 15.00 per month...

I don’t like your Christians.
They are so unlike your Christ.

Heard this line on a song sung by Misty Edwards while listening to the IHOP Prayer Room. It struck me and caused me to stop and think. Another line is "The way of God is the wilderness, its always been the wilderness". I believe this, for we have to be weak for him to be strong ( 2 Corinthians 12:10 ). In our strength really we can do nothing, nothing that will last for eternity, but in God’s strength our actions can last beyond the boundaries of time. What an amazing concept and truth....

Yesterday I returned my Harley Davidson riding boots to Academy armed only with a print out of the transaction from my credit card. (Thank God for the Internet and viewing transactions online.) I was a little nervous because I knew that the clerks, which usually don't care, could give me a hard time and if they wanted deny the refund. However this wasn't the case at all. An older staff member was called over and after talking to a couple other people promptly refunded all my money. Let me back up a bit, before I entered the store I was on the phone with a friend and I asked him to agree with me...

I got a bike cover from an eBay seller a couple of weeks back and today it proved useful. I decided to ride today in spite of the weather warning of a 50% rain chance. (In Houston 50% means that it will rain at some point.)
Thankfully I covered the bike before any rain fell and now the the showers have worked their way through the area the sun is shining nice and bright.
I'll work a little while longer allowing the roads to dry a little more before I venture out.

Today I played with the iPhone. One of my co-workers just got one and shared the Apple goodness with the rest of us. The things I didn't like about it are: It is very heavy for a phone The web is very slow Seems to "gadgety" for a phone I'm sure there are benefits to having such a device, but the coolness factor didn't smack me as something that I just have to have. I'm also not one to carry an iPod or phone around either. Personally I would be more concerned about the phone being stolen or damaged to be effective. In a way I'm glad I got to play with the phone as all doubt has been removed as...

I have been working through install issues of Thycotic Software's SecretServer 2.1 and decided to read Jonathan's blog as I have been impressed more with the company follow up and attention to getting a single user of their software up and running then the actual software. :) In his blog , Jonathan takes a shot at Grisoft (the makers of AVG ) saying they are engaging in bait and switch tactics. It might be that he just failed to drill down into the free part of their site. Grisoft has always made the free version less obvious on their site then the Pro for sale version, but when they moved from...

Now if you are into the blog world it becomes increasingly more difficult to keep up with all the different blogs so a reader becomes manditory. How to keep up with blogs with out a feed!
Too all my family blogging, please, please add a feed link to your site.

But more then just spell check I would rather pull up an app, type away and then have it post to my blog. Enter Windows Live Writer ... it is the best blogging tool I have found to date! If you haven't tried it, give it a whirl , I'm sure you won't be disappointed....

Five years after the attack on American soil by radical Islam I have to ask myself if I have forgotten the aweful day when the world trade center towers went down. While I have never, to this point, written about where I was, what I was doing that day. I can still remember sitting in my office and hearing about something happening. Quite a few of us left our offices and went down to the dinning area where there was a large screen television reporting the events as they were taking place. Once people understood what had happened, we were given the rest of the day off to spend with our families,...

Recently I downloaded the yahoo scripture widget and set it to display from the NLT and Message versions. Today's verse is Matt 4:4 which reads: Jesus answered by quoting Deuteronomy: "It takes more than bread to stay alive. It takes a steady stream of words from God's mouth." As I started meditating on Jesus' reply I couldn't get over how the message put it [a steady stream of words from God's mouth]. Are you receiving a steady stream of words from his mouth? Do you hear when he whispers in your spirit? My prayer today is that God will help me keep my heart so sensitive towards him that even the...

Check this out:
Chairman Bill Ford evidently is willing to take Ford into bankruptcy in order to continue support of homosexual groups and homosexual marriage. Ford's sales dropped 5% in March and 7% in April. Ford's stock has dropped more than 14% since the boycott began to the lowest price in nearly 20 years. Some feel the stock, now at $6.78, will be at $3 in a matter of months and are bailing out now rather than lose more money on Ford stock.

I have long said most people are like sheep they need someone to lead them. Not in a derogatory way, however it is still a fact. This article was especially good because it talks about how each of us have a choice to make. Are we going to live like a sheep or be a sheepdog.

"Formal education will make you a living; self-education will make you a fortune." -Jim Rohn I have often times though about my reasons for not going to college. It always boils down to something in my inner being not liking the idea of sitting in a classroom for 4 years only to come out, learn the job yet again. But I believe the real reason is summed up in the quote above. College doesn't teach one how to make a fortune, it only teaches you how to make a living. I never have wanted to just make a living. Sure I'm doing that right now but my dreams and goals have always been to make a fortune...

Over the last couple of nights I have had dreams about snakes. In all the dreams there was a huge dislike for the snakes and the effort to kill them. I don't remember any of the details but I do remember being amazed at the feelings I had during the dream and after I woke up.
I normally hate snakes anyway, and get spooked by them. I think it has something to do with the fact that I figure they will bite me and some of them are rather poisonous and I don't want the pain associated with a venom bite.

I have heard it said that one should write down their dreams. A few people in the Christian world have the ability to interpret dreams and it was in this context I heard about writing down one's dreams. I came across the reason to write the dream down no matter how little you remember. The best way to remember dreams in detail is to start writing down whatever you can remember from your dreams just as you wake up before the memory slips away. Do this every day and over time you will remember them in great detail. from phil's comment on http://www.businesspundit.com/archives/001391.html Interesting...

This was somewhat irritating as I had to tell them again what my message was. I called them the first time so I wouldn't have to remember the message. It was a task that took less then two minutes (GTD people will understand the significance). Yet I had to dig up the message from my memory cause they never listed to the original message. The irony of the whole matter is they truly figured they were doing me a favor by getting back with me so quickly...

What I find interesting is the number of movable type blogs turned into CSM website that are popping up. Seems to me this is an area where some of the .net systems...

Clearly the worst article is one written by an author with a poor understanding of the technology and lackluster writing skills, but a close second worse is one written by someone with a keen understanding of the technology, but without the writing skills to transfer his immense knowledge from his brain to the written word. While I agree it is better to have a well written article explaining technology there by allowing the writer to get his ideas across to the reader I was reminded of a book I am currently reading titled " Now, Discover Your Strengths "....
