3 more flights

This weekend three more flights were added to my P-51. The first was by my instructor, Jim Greer. I wanted him to test fly the plane because of all the modifications I had made. I nutralized the flaps making them working with the addition of a servo. I added more right thrust and laterally balanced the plane. With these improvements the plane flew even better then before, and landed with out a problem with the flaps in netural position. The last flight was for my youngest daughter. She has been practicing on the flight simulator on her own and doesn't crash on take off any more. :)...

Update to the flying today

I really can't thank Jim Greer enough for the enjoyable time he has made getting back into the R/C hobby. He did save my butt today. There was a fair cross wind most of the time we were flying and on one take off I about lost the plane when it was blown to the right and almost took a right dive. Jim quickly took over the controls and finished the take-off before returning control to me. Thanks again Jim!...

The flying is progressing

 Today I did three more flights this time adding loops, rolls and stall turns. Then I practiced more touch and go's as well as just flying the plane around to get a better feel for it in the air. All this is thanks to Jim Greer who has worked with me in the mornings to get more air time. 51 Comments

Total flights so far

Best I can figure I have a total of 16 flights on my plane so far.

9-4-2006 :: 5 flights
7-1-2066 through 8-26-2006 :: 11 flights

Hopefully things will work out and I'll get to fly tomorrow morning. A great gentleman from the club is willing to help me fly in the early morning hours, which is great cause then I can get some flight time before work. :)

Flying this past Monday

Labor day I was able to make a couple more flights with my p-51 R/C plane. I did a total of 5 flights with the last flight practicing touch and go's. For me flying is a relaxing hobby, while at times there are harrowing experiences over all it is a great outlet to get away from the house/computer and do something I love.

Customer Service still rules

A couple of months ago I bough the hangar-9 PTS P-51 from a local hobby shop (Larry's Hobbies on 1960) and now I regret every buying from them. Every time I have called them they are rude and inconsiderate on the phone. Even in person so I'm taking my business else where.

There is a little hobby store just down the road from me (Randy's Hobbies) they have great customer service thus far. Check them out if you are in the area.
